Getting There, Falkirk
Maddiston Community Council are working alongside a number of organisations to find out people’s experience of their local area to help agencies understand local issues better. This builds upon the Community Action Plan that was put together in 2014.
Community Funds for Maddiston

As with the Feast, the funding decisions will be made by the community who will be able to vote for their favourite projects.

We are delighted to announce the first ever Maddiston & Rumford FEAST was held on Sunday 29th January at the Maddiston Community Centre.
8 local people or groups pitched their project for a chance to win a share of £2000 grant funding. Every person over 16 who attended the Feast was given a voting token and got to vote for 1 of the 8 projects, the projects with the most votes received funding. Voting was close but the winning projects are: Maddiston Primary School- Nurture Project Maddiston Minis - Football equipment for the junior teams Muiravonside Growing Area - Accessible Growing Friday Senior Youth Club - Activity Outing Maddiston PSA - Community Summer Fete AS well as the funding bids the feast was used to share the results of the Getting There project, including a summary of the IRISS report which will be available shortly and the Getting There video. As part of the project, we went out and about to try to get people's views and opinions in their own words. We ended up with hours of footage but managed to condense it into a 6 minute video that represented the main points that many were saying. Here's what our community have to say: |
